The School of Information Systems seeks to create computing knowledge for the digital transformation of business and society, and the application of this knowledge in the training of IT professionals to innovate solutions that create value to business and society.
Our Information Systems major produces job-ready professionals who are versatile in applying emerging technologies to develop end-to-end IT solutions.
The Smart-City Management and Technology major is a unique interdisciplinary programme that trains professionals in harmonizing social, economic, business, environmental and technology concerns to develop smart city solutions.

Bachelor of Science (Information Systems) : Smart-City Management & Technology Major

The BSc in Information Systems (Smart-City Management and Technology) major equips you with interdisciplinary skills across the three disciplines in Technology, Social Science and Management, to seize career opportunities arising from the global trend towards smart cities


Undergraduate Fast-Track Options


Fast-Track Programmes allow promising SIS undergraduates pursue a Bachelor and Master degrees within a shorter period of time.

We currently offer the following tracks for undergraduate programmes:


SMU BSc (Information Systems) : Information Systems Major & Carnegie Mellon (Pittsburgh, USA)

The SMU-CMU Fast Track allows Singapore Management University (SMU) students to graduate within four to four and half years with both a Bachelor of Science (Information Systems) : Information Systems Major degree from SMU and a master's degree in IT from Carnegie Mellon University.

SMU BSc (Information Systems) & MITB Programme

In addition to the BSc (Information Systems), selected SIS undergraduates can obtain the Master of IT in Business (Financial Services Analytics) or Master of IT in Business (Analytics) degree concurrently. The MITB (FS) track aims to train technology and operations professionals for assuming IT leadership positions in the Financial Services sector. The MITB (AT) track aims to train a new breed of business analytics professional who can leverage on data and decision analytics to support customers and operations related decisions in the Service Sectors. The MITB (FA) program draws from both the Financial Services Track and Analytics Track to equip and prepare graduates and professionals with the ability and intelligence to translate data into actionable insights that drive growth in the financial services industry.

SMU BSc (Information Systems) & MAIS Programme

In addition to the BSc (Information Systems), selected SIS undergraduates can obtain the Master of Applied Information Systems degree concurrently. The MAIS program is designed to enhance students’ knowledge and skills by providing students with a broad view of information systems, in addition to valuable hands-on experiences.
